796D Enter Lock problem

I usually program the 796 via ARC250. However, when I'm on the road and find a new Talkgroup, I can't enter into an empty memory tag.

I double checked the ENTER LOCK feature on the scanner, and still, every time I punch in a TG such as 38880 and hit Enter, is flashes ENTER LOCK! :evil:

What's wrong with this thing?

Checking it and actually turning it off requires pressing the "E"

Look and see if the screen mask is on. This will sometimes cause the unit to give an enter lock message. Screen mask is in the system options.
