Hey all, just a few random thoughts about 800mhz antennas. I know most of us have a drawer full of various antennas around the house, and we've all spent a small fortune trying out different ones. But I'm just curious if anyone has found one that beats the Remtronix 800's when it comes to 700/800mhz. Any thoughts or experiences?

When it comes to rubber portable antennas nothing beats the REM 820 on 800 MHz and I've got them all. LOL.

Man, the cheap-o Radio Shack one I had 15 or 20 years ago was the best 800 MHz HT antenna I ever had! I didn't do any quantitative testing or anything, it just always seemed to work so much better than any others I had.

That Radio Shack 800 MHz antenna is the same antenna as the REM 820. It was made by GRE and rebranded by RadioShack just like their scanners. I bought a fistful of them when RatShack went out of business at 70% off. They were only BNC then.

Remtronix added the SMA and SMA 100.

Works pretty good on UHF also. Unfortunately, not so much on VHF High.

I like all of their products.

+1 for that antenna. I still have the Radio Shack branded one and it works well.
