Hey Everyone,

99% of the time I get "Open Mic" - like interference on 867.2125 on my Pro-96. It comes up as DE PD-1 / NCC Delaware.

I looked in the RR Database and it doesn't appear to be a Control Channel or anything. Can I assume that I can just lock it out? I didn't want to lock it out if it was going to hinder reception.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

867.2125 is not licensed to the State of Delaware; it appears that it should be 867.7125. Possibly entered wrong in you radio during programming.

867.2125 is listed in RRDB as TALK_1 in APCO-CAI Conventional Simplex Mode. 867.7125 a Trunked Frequency. 868.1375 is listed as TALK_2. It is fascinating the State has no license for the Talk Arounds and why they don't.

Is anything of value typically heard on the TALK-1, 2 simplex freqs - or are they simply used for un-official chit-chat?

I have monitored 28 and 29 Checks, and chit-chat on TALK_1. I have not monitored any Fireboard comms on TALK_2.

Thanks, Dave. Interesting that 28's and 29's have been run on TALK-1....I'd always had the impression that the TALK freqs were low-power and only mobile-mobile. I assume the mode is digital......it's also curious that the database lists the mode for the ICALL and ITAC freqs as FM - perhaps these are intended for analog use?

The ITACS are used when the system goes into Site Trunking Mode and is in FM Analog Mode. There are no Private Calls on the NCCo Site, but the Kent Co Site has a rare Private Call or 2, and it is in APCO-CAI Mode. The TALK_1 and TALK_2 Channels are low power but I have heard ReComm and a RPC talking to each other so for low power it works well.

Dave,

Site trunking mode....what exactly is that? Fallback for failure of the countywide digital system?

If the system loses the T-1 line or Microwave Link to the other sites, each site will go into Site Trunking Mode. The radios can only affiliate to the nearest Site. No patches, statewide comms, or encryption is possible when the system is in Site Trunking Mode. The Site Controller will work independant of the Master Controller. If all else fails, the system will go into FAILSOFT. (Hopefully)
