• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I created in Channel "RV46" - "RV63" not belonging to any Zone
I created a "VHF Repeater" Scan List where I assegned the above 18 channels
In Channel "RV46" - "RV63" I set "Scan List = VHF Repeater"
I run the scan for "VHF Repeater" Scan List, all channels are scanned but also the one of the zone before the scan started.
Is it a bug? How can I solve

I have programmed a lot of professional 2-way radios and usually the channel selected are automatically included in a scanlist.
Which scanlist to activate are programmed to a channel configuration so it seems logical to also include that channel.

I have done lots of "scanner" programming of 2-way radios and I then usually have a channel name changed to tell what scanlist are activated. If I have the name of CH1 set to "Scanning Marine CH" I also have it set to "Auto Scan" and to start a scanlist of marine channels. CH1 are then set to a dummy frequency and a CTCSS/DCS tone that isn't used so that scan will never stop on that channel. But display will show that CH1 name while it is scanning so it will be clear what are scanned.

CH2 are set to something else like "Scanning GMRS" and are done in the same way as CH1. I might sometimes prefer to have CH1 as the first channel in one zone and CH2 as the first channel in another zone. If I then start to turn the channel selector scanning stops and I manually can go between channels, the marine ones in the CH1 zone and the GRMS ones in the CH2 zone. But at other times I might have CH1 to CH5 in the same zone set up as scanning selectors if there's no real need to quickly go manually between the channels in a scan list.
