898 Delay

Perhaps I'm missing something, but, it looks like my 898 will allow me to put the DELAY on or off BUT for (I can't quite remember, my manual isn't close by) either an entire bank or an entire system. Seems like other models allow for ID-by-ID delays. I want to Delay scanning on the main fire channel but let all the rest scan immediately. If this is "the way it is" I hope Uniden considers making a change in their firmware.

hmm, my 898t let's me delay single channels or talk groups.

Setting the Delay Mode
A delay can be set for each programmed channel so that when scan or search stops on a channel there is a brief pause before the scanning cycle resumes. Delay must be set for each programmed channel, and it can be set when your scanner pauses during a scan or when manual mode is selected. Setting Delay in Scan or Search Mode

1. Press SCAN or set a search range then press SRC.
2. When your scanner stops on a channel, press DELAY. DELAY appears. Scanning
resumes two seconds after the transmission ends.

Setting Delay in Manual Mode
1. Press MANUAL.
2. Use the keypad or rotary tuner to select a channel.
3. Press DELAY. DELAY

You are right for the non-trunked stuff, but, most of my listening is trunked. Have you have been able to delay one talk-group only and leave the rest undelayed ? Thanx

I think your right as well, I can't get talk groups to delay individually. hmm.

Pretty lame, I'm pretty sure that other radios I've played with would delay single talkgroups. Would be nice if the next firmware update allows it.
