I have recently started scanning some of the small sub-bands, according to the FCC spectrum map. I am curious though I have a (beacon) transmitter of some type on 941.343750. It sounds like a a chirp 2 seconds apart for two chirps, then 3 secs aprt on the 3rd, then 4 seconds apart twice in a row. Every now and then a long 2 second or so chirp, and sometimes 3 fast chirp's. According to the FCC this range is only for the federal govt. I looked through the listed agencies, I can rule out USDA, DOI, and a few other's. Which leaves the FAA, and DHS. And of course I could be wrong----any idea's? I am in a small mid-western town 25-30k people. I live in town (or I would consider the USDA ). I don't have anyway to record or load the sound on here , just hoping for some ideas. It shows up on all my scanner's (see sig. line), inside house and outside.

Sounds like SCADA. See if you hear anything on 932.34375. It's probably paired with that.
If it's private fixed microwave there will be an FCC license you can look up. What county are you hearing it in?

I did make a mistake—-not the FCC chart I’m using , it’s the NTIA spectrum chart map. Nothing on the lower freq. suggested either. Looked through all eight pages of lic. granted in my county ( I was able to put a few others to rest though).

January 2016 NTIA definitely SHARED FIXED, you all are certainly correct. Haley, if you locate anything there, please let us know. I do the same thing, have not come up with anything in that band, zippo. I sure would be interested to hear any of your findings, good luck with that..Thank you for posting.

It depends on your location, equipment you are using, and if there are any users on that band in your area. Most of the users will be using directional antennas that may not be pointed at you. There are probably no voice communicatons to listen to in that band anyway and the digital stuff may not be decodeable.

Roger that, nothing to decode in my tool chest.. I do enjoy using my NTIA chart, and hitting Fed Only, and Shared bands. Even when I come up with Sat tones or anything similar, the hunt to identify it is what I enjoy. I particularly appreciate this post because this band has been a thorn in my side... I hope Haley lands on something, take care..
