I love this scanner, but one thing bugs me........

When locked on a "truncked" channel, the upper display line flashes (toggles) between Group Name and Site name.

When locked on a "conventional" channel, the upper display line flashes (toggles) between Group Name and System name.

Is there anyway to disable the toggling, and just have it display one (or the other)?

If you really find that toggling to much to bear, all you need to do is make the system name and the group name, the same. Me, I have mine set up where the location is the system name, and then groups are the discipline (police, fire, and EMS). I use that to give me a couple extra charecters in the channel's name.

Yes

With conv. I just name my groups the same as the system:
system - Belmont MA
group - Belmont MA
channel - Police ch.1 Ops
group - Belmont MA
channel - Fire Dispatch

With trunked systems I want the site # so I minimize the flash:
site - MA St. Police 01
site - MA St. Police 22
group - MA St. Police
etc.
