Apparently, you don't know the theory of not
being easily seen or heard.

Haven't a clue :roll::roll:.

While you (and others) are concentrating on a 3 inch white container on a belt to ID a cop, the rest of the world can ID a cop simply by the uniform and gear he carries. If "stealthy mode" is the objective, it is small enough to put in a pocket. This is not the bulls-eye that some of you think it is. :lol::lol::lol:

No but if you are trying to be stealthy at say a "man with a gun call" and it is a dark place having a bright white container on your side is no good. there are times when having a dark uniform and dark colored equipment comes in handy. If you look at the pistols that are silver in color, they have a non polished finish to them for a reason. It is about tactics. they way you carry yourself your equipment and what you have on you. You want to make as little as noise as possible and blend in to your surroundings as much as you can.

Yes you are in uniform, but you still have to think about your tactics.

I personally don't like the accusation about "me" and others concentrating on a 3 inch white container on a belt. MY belt has nothing on it that makes noise or reflects light. MY handcuffs (excuse me-mechanical restraints), which are unpolished nickel are inside a completely closed case for this reason. MY radio has a listen only surveillance earpice attached to the speaker mic. While I'm not a cop, I am a member of the Boston Police Union, and I am well aware that there are times when it's better to observe than to act, and that stealthiness is one of the best ways to observe. There are times when everything goes to crap fast, and you don't have time to take it off your belt-it's on a ring that has to be threaded from the looks of the pic, not a clip. Yes, you can identify a cop by their uniform, that's what it's made for, but remember, there are times when they don't want to be identified, as it could cost them their life.

Well, I wasn't going to join the fray, but now I can't help myself.

I am sorry to say that I beleive all this talk about a big white target is just a straw argument for what we really all feel.

The thing just looks stupid hanging off the belt. A badge is a lot brighter, more refletive than this hand sanitizer, but a badge looks cool. This thing just looks stupid.

It's not a badge it is a shield.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8310/4.5.0.110 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102 UP.Link/6.3.1.20.06.3.1.20.0)

Proves my point. It even has a cool name.
