This isn't and wasn't intended as an impingement of character, so it's good that you don't see how it impugns your character or state of mind.Taking time to consider is always a wise option. As is assuming that one probably doesn't know everything and getting input from those who have direct experience with the subject at hand. I fail to see how any of this impugns my character or state of mind.
Perhaps there is something going on that isn't being addressed. Maybe asking about it would help everyone else try and be helpful.
If you don't want one or want to use it after you get it, fine, drop it or don't participate (many of us are like that in ham radio), learning something new is rarely a hindrance. This isn't a license to kill or anything.
I have to disagree strongly with the idea (in general... not necessarily on this subject) that taking time to consider is always a wise option.
Many people that are on the forums are (or were) in positions due to jobs, or life experiences, that demanded relatively quick decision making, with minimal information.
My guess is that you also have done this, even if you don't realize it. Even a mom (and Dad) has to make quick decisions about what battles are worth fighting over with a child.
A ham license is a low cost, relativly easy to obtain thing.
Once adequate information is obtained, and priorities are clear, the decision for many things (like I said, not necessarily this one) is done.
As mentioned above, is something weighing on your mind with the subject?
Thanks
Joel
