Has Abilene, Texas gone to a trunk system? If so, what type of system is it?

Thanks!

I heard on the news they are looking at getting one. Right now they still use the convetional frequencies. They said it will probably take 2 years to set up. There has been no talk on analog or digital.

They have had those frequencies for about 10 years. It is an LTR (not sure of the offical name) the one that is trackable with my PRO 92. They (the police) USE TO, stupidly, use it as their phone. I stopped listening because of legal issues. I did hear them calling a subject that was holding up in a house refusing to come out. They have recently stopped and the frequencies are not being used. I suspect they will use it for the trunk system, I wonder if it will be LTR because our "sister city" San Angelo uses one.

Do you have any further information on this LTR system? I'd like to get it added into the database if at all possible.

LCN's ? Talkgroups ?

Interesting... is the system totally not being used anymore?

Next to a scanner...
Abilene Christian Univ???

If I'm reading this document corrently, it says that the ACU PD is on ham freqs!?

Abilene Christian University Police 146.1600 MHz (TX)
(Control Station) 146.7600 MHz (RX)
(146.2 Hz on TX only)

This is listed on Pg 45 - I'm sure this is a typo - there are Ham Frequencies listed under ACU.
