• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have a question: If I want to do full encryption from the company, what do they give me a program or give them the call to do the full encryption?

If the program can I use it to activate encryption in other devices and an infinite number of devices or how

You're going to have to give a little more detail, but keep in mind that MSI probably won't "give" you anything. ;)

Have the system administrator deal with it, they will have the software and technical assistance available from Motorola to make sure it is all, squared away.

What type of radios you using? Are you overseas?

If you are authorized to make changes by your company it will depend on what type equipment you have.

There is key loaders which some depending on what version you get only do certain types, while there is software based encryption such as arc4 better known as adp, or other variety from vendors in digital end of things.

Mostly a system or administrator or tech under advisement from the admin handles it. But if your the tech or private business go to guy and are authorized then people need to know what type of radios you using, firmware versions, repeaters or simplex etc.

Thanks for the answer I'm not like some failed people who, if they don't have an answer, make themselves investigators

My question about HYTERA PD785
And about MOTOTRBO DP4600

If you already have a working digital radio system, operating in digital mode, then:

If your equipment has Encryption built in, then you would have to use Radio Software to turn on that feature and enter an encryption key.

The talkgroups would have to be programmed to operate in Encryped mode, or you could program a button or switch on the radio to toggle the encryption on or off.

If your equipment does not already have encryption built in, you may need to purchase the encryption option and flash the radios.

Encryption is tricky, so if it were me, I would pay my local radio dealer to have a qualified technician make those changes.

As an amateur I just want to inquire and I do not want to buy encryption
