Hi

I've been having issues with acarsd lately on both of my PC's, one is running WinXP with SP3 and the other Windows Server 2003R2. I'm getting frequent crashes which look like they are related to the sound buffers getting overloaded. This did not seem to be a problem a year ago. I Does anyone else have this issue?

Thanks
Paul

I had problems with win500 crashing. It wouldnt load period. Not exactly the same thing your experiencing but mine was a windows security update KB2758857. A fairly recent update. Try uninstalling it. You can always reinstall it.

IMHO I'd be inclined to download a new copy of AcarsD and reload it after removing all remnants of your old version including the registry entries. Looks like something serious has become corrupted. Did you copy from one computer to the other? Tried putting the date back a year to see if that has any influence? You may have to disconnect from your modem/router to stop Windoze changing the date back to the correct one.

CYUL,
Are there any entries in the acarsd log at the time of the crash?

Looks like it might be the Microsoft scripting update problem. When you do a query, a script is run to get the website to do the search requested. Since a few Windows updates ago, handling of Javascripting and VBASIC scripting in Windows (especially with MSIE v8 or higher), is "broken" with respect to most websites that use scripting.

It's too bad there are no support people left for the application, it would be nice to have the code updated. I'm having the same issues with 1.70

I think, since MS is not about to undo the damage they have done to their own browser, the solution is going to be for people who run script-based online resources to recode around the problem.
