I have a BC796D and have it in my dining room. I would like to put a speaker in my office and bedroom- anyone know how to do this? I tried an inexpensive wireless speaker system and it did not work. Would like
to just regular hard wire it but do not know if it would have enough
power to run two 30ft long speaker wires to the two rooms.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You need a small amplifier for your speakers. Just hook the scanner up to the amplifier.

I'd use computer speakers. Put one channel in each room. Make expensions for the cables as needed. Remember that one speaker usually has the amps for both channels so the wiring will be:
Code:
scanner > Speaker w. amp > speaker

Amplifer?

Thanks for the replies- Just one little problem. I know less than nothing
about what type amplifier will work for the scanner and what type speakers to use. Remember- I will need an amplifier that will supply three
speakers. One with scanner in dining room, one in office and one for the bed room. The two rooms will require about 30 feet each of speaker wire.

So- if you care to re-respond, please speak in simple and specific terms.

Thanks-

Andy

Here is the amp you need. It will run on dc and ac power. You just need a jumper cable that will connect the ext. speaker jack of your scanner to the amp. Then you connect your speakers to the output jack of the amp. You will need a splitter cable to hook up the extra speakers. The first link tells you what speakers you need.
