Can anyone give a detailed explanation of the Advanced DSP Settings and how adjusting them can improve P25 reception. Items are:

DSP Level Adapt
ADC Gain
DAC Gain

Also under the Trunked Radio Systems Tab, Multi-site settings:

Data decode thresholds low and high.

I have seen bits and pieces on these items discussed in the forums but no detailed explanation of what they are for and how best to adjust the values for best P25 and multi-site reception. My Pro-668 does not pick up P25 transmissions or P25 multisite transmissions very well. Mostly garbled, sometimes clear and garbled, sometimes clear, sometimes no copy depending on my physical location inside or outside. Side by side with my 396XT, the 396XT has almost 100% copy. Both radios have the same Radio Shack 800mhz antenna attached.

I can only relate to you my experience with playing with the Advanced Tab settings with my PSR 800 and numerous phone calls discussing settings with Epi and Raj at the former GRE America. I had thought I found better settings than the default settings and related them to GRE. They played with the settings and reported back to me that they stood firmly on the default settings were still the best overall settings for the radio. What I have leaned over the years with the P-25 Systems is what bep has related. Antenna and YAGI's seem to do the best resolution. In my area we have 3 major P-25 systems and they all are quirky. In my base setup some days the radio(s) are clear as can be and other days they are unintelligble.

So my best advice is leave the default settings alone and play with antenna direction. I think the radio engineers with all their sophsticated equipment have a better handle on how the radio will perform than I.
