I am looking for some advise/input.
I just bought a Uniden 785d without the digital card....I programmed it with Butel ARC250 software...but do NOT run the scanner with the program.

There are about 50 percent of the freqs that I plugged in hsvr pl's/dpl's. I also programmed in Alpha tags for just about all of the frequencies. All the stuff is conventional---there are no trunked systems in my area ;-)
Anway my question is: Is it normal when in the scan mode that the pl's/dpl's are not reading out? Looking at the manual it appears the alpha tags "cover up" the "space" where the pl frqs would read out.
Also when in the search mode for pl's/dpl's when I press enter when the proper pl/dpl is flashing and I've aleady programmed in the pl/dpl with the software would that do anything to the radio's operation as far as "detecting" pl's/dpl's when in the conventional scan mode...

Any help would be appreciated!

Yes. Only the frequency, mode, alpha tag, CH #, bank tag and bank # scanned is displayed. The 780 will display programmed PL/DPL. If you set the squelch mode to SEARCH for a given frequency, it will search for the tone and display it when found.

It should not as long as the PL/DPL matches what was previously stored, if I understand your question correctly. :?
