This may have been addressed already. Sounds as though StatCare is no more. I noticed on a medical call here in Bowling Green this evening that StatCare/now Air Methods/aka LifeNet operates the medic helo out of Glasgow, KY with the callsign "Kentucky 8". Looks as though their dispatch callsign is "LifeCom" based in Omaha, NE. They still use 155.265/PL114.8 as their comms. Also, reference was made by their dispatch to 155.16/PL114.8 being preset Channel 16.

Bowling Green:confused:

Over heard some traffic in my area, they called in two helos, and they called one something other than Statcare... so your right, and EMS knew about it. Must be a memo or press release out about it. Which I didn't get.

Check this out too:

Yes, the former Statcare 2 based in Glasgow is now known as Kentucky 8. The helicopter looks exactly the same as before just Air Methods were the StatCare was! They've been using the new LifeCom and Kentucky 8 calls for about 2 weeks or so now. Kentucky 6 is the helicopter in E-town. I was listening to the same run they were responding to in warren county that you mentioned David. They must not have the same radio setup as before because they were able to program in something that didn't have preset if they needed to. But going to that scene ky-8 advised they were going to switch over, what freq. to switch to, and LifeCom advised it was 800, ky-8 advised they didn't have 800 capability was there something else, LifeCom advised 155.160 pl 114.8, ky-8 advised they couldn't program on the fly was there a preset, they advised 16 and that it was listed as Allen County EMS however ALL of Allen County is uhf. Warren County has that freq. capability I've heard them talk with Barren/Metcalfe EMS which is on that freq. as well as Edmonson County and Monroe County. But when we have a run over here in either Barren, Metcalfe or Monroe they say that freq. and pl tone configuration is preset 8??? The Glasgow freq. 155.265 pl 114.8 sounds alot clearer than before and they also do a morning radio check which they didn't do before.

Great; thanks for the responses. As a side note. AirEvac here in Bowling Green has one of the county's 800 radios to communicate. Since Air Methods makes runs to Warren County as well one would be led to believe that they too would have 800 comms capability.
