I saw a picture in my Twitter feed where the Baltimore City Fire Department
is getting two new pieces of fire equipment. One is labelled "Airflex 2".
I've never heard of that. What does that equipment do on a daily basis?

AIRFLEX

Bill...years ago the BCFD had 5 specialized units; (2) Floodlight trucks / (2) Hi Expansion Foam trucks & 1 Air Cascade truck. Sometime in the mid 70's, if I remember correctly, they did away with these units and combined them into 1 AIR (for filling bottles), FL (for lighting) EX (for hi expansion foam... thus the term AIRFLEX. There are 2; one for fires east of Charles St. & one for fires west of Charles St. I hope this helps.
