airplane transponder decoding

Anyone know a way to detect those information and have it plot on a map by some sort of sotfware?

Not going to happen.
That is all encrypted and unless you have authority from the FAA, you will never be able to do it.

Post 9/11,nobody is going to just put software out there just like that to monitor that encrypted stuff. There is no NEED for an average person to monitor that . To be quite honest, I am surprised that the Feds have not cracked down on ACARS decoding software, which I happen to love.

OK, my mistake. But you are still delayed 5 minutes if you are connected to the network for other cities. That makes this a pointless product, why look for something that was there 5 minutes ago. The only real time info is what you see directly.

I guess if you are into that as a hobby, it might be ok.

Since I don't own it I can't say for certain, but your qoute is from a forum post in March 2008, my qoute was from their front page under "Announcing RadarBox Network in Real-Time"... so I believe the current announcement supercedes an old forum post.

If you are receiving RadarBox data through the RadarBox Network, then there is a 5 minute delay.
If you are receiving the signals through YOUR OWN ANTENNA, then the data is LIVE - (no delay).
Since few aircraft at this time in the US send out ADS-B data you will not see much.

People keep parroting that comment, which is manifestly untrue if you are near any of the major international airports or overseas air routes. Several major US airlines send location data via that mode. International carriers do, too, and many many of them fly over the US enroute to our airports.

That might be wonderful if 50 a/c per hour are sending the data, but when you consider that 500 flights occurred in the airspace, it doesn't sound like many.

I have an AirNav Radar box and it works great. While it is true that many US airliners do not have the proper equipment that this device monitors, almost any new aircraft does, as well as any aircraft that flies internationally.

I live 40 miles from ORD, and the aircraft I "see" most often on my display are international and cargo flights and domestic flights with newer A320, B737/738/739 and RJ's.

Right now above my house is a Spirit A319 en route from Detroit to Las Vegas.

Like a previous poster said, live over-the-air reception is displayed immediately and is not dependent on a network connection, and after buying the device itself is free of continuing charges. Network service, where you can see flights from around the world, is on a 5 minute delay, is free for the first year after you get the box, and requires the box to be connected to the computer and the computer connected to the Internet for service.

I went through the service options and the coolest service that should be out in november is radarbox 3D. Wich software did you take? If I dont want to bother to hook up an antenna outside can I still see traffic screen from the internet info? Did you try the Flight Simulator integration option?

Well atleast 1 box owner has commenrd!
I would feel lost without my box!!

I am able to correlate info about comms heard on VHF,UHF and HF.
0722 right now and I only have 36 A/C displayed on my box, in a couple of hour's it will go over 100.

The Kinetic software display's if an A/C is level,climbing or desending. I can also program LAT/LON for airport's and waypoint's here in Central FL.
If an A/C is running full Mode-S,I see everything about the flight except the stew's measurement's.

While I have the AirNav box I have read a bit about the Kinetic's box and it seems to be a Ford vs. Chevy type discussion on which is best. After reading various forum discussions and the company websites I decided upon the AirNav, it seemed to trip my trigger better. It didn't hurt that ScannerMaster (whom I occasionally write for) carries the AirNav box and I was able to get a decent deal.

I like the AirNav, but haven't played with the Kinetic's so I can't comment on which is better.
