Airspy.us warning

I’m new here. I just made an account so I could message Airspy US. A month or so ago I ordered two airspy minis to upgrade my ADSB setup.

After a couple of weeks they didn’t arrive so I looked up the tracking. The tracking showed that the shipment was returned to sender due to a wrong address and had been delivered back to airspy US. The wrong address was entirely my fault. PayPal autofill an old address that I can’t remove and I should have double checked.

I emailed them and asked they reship to the correct address and offered to pay shipping again. I have received no response. I made an account here to message them because they have been active less than a month ago and got no response. The contact for on the web site is broken. The number they have associated with PayPal is disconnected.

I’m trying to get a refund through PayPal but that is proving to be an uphill battle because the shipping shows delivered. You have to click on it to see that it was delivered back to the sender.

Just a word of warning. If you want to buy an airspy maybe buy it from the manufacture and not airspy-us

To be fair you absolutely should've verified the ship to address before ordering/paying. That part is on you, but the rest of the tale of Joe being unresponsive to your emails is sadly not surprising in the least bit.

100% I should have checked. Hopefully PayPal will come through with the refund. As of now he has my $200 and both of the airspys.

In my messages it shows a conversation and nothing about being limited. I was hoping it should send an email notification that he would respond to.

Airspy does not deal directly with customers so one can only go thru a distributor, which Airspy US is. There are 11 in total with 3 that seem to deal with USA customers.

In Airspy.US' defense, if you read their website (and I also communicated with the operator), they had a wave of Covid go through recently that affected nearly everyone at the company. So shipping may be behind and customer service may not be as responsive.

@Lanny0134 You might want to read the main page on Airspy.US – Your USA source for quality SDR products! in its entirety. Some of what you describe seems to be addressed there, regarding what happens when one fails to set shipping to the correct destination. How true that is or not, I can't say. But it does look like the operator must have at least received your response, or the response of somebody else in a similar situation as you.

Here is the manufactures page that I have ordered from now. Downside it is outside the us but shipping isn’t expensive.

The contact us form on the site says failed to send on every device I tried it on. I emailed but no response for two weeks. The Covid notice was there when I placed my order.

PayPal refunded me so I don’t have an issue there.

I did read that on their site. I offered to pay shipping again. They could have refunded, less shipping, and I could have ordered with the correct address. I don’t mind paying for my mistake but no communication for two weeks isn’t ok in my book.

I ordered the HF+ Discovery yesterday, and never received a confirmation email, which still seems odd, as those are usually automated. I'm not using Gmail, and nothing in spam. I can confirm the contact form on the website just gives a bogus "error" when you hit send. Paypal shows the transaction completed, and I received an order number on the checkout screen, so I'll just be patient and hope it went through, sounds like they are short staffed, but trying to do the best they can. If I don't have any news by next week, might need to contact paypal.

Seeing as how they inform customers on their main page web portal about any unforeseen circumstances arising beyond their control is very responsible for Airspy.us. They also have emphasized to be certain that the customer must verify shipping address information on credit card/debit card matches to a "T" to make sure the order shipped gets delivered accurately. Usually, the address you have on file in your bank account is the one you want for shipping address. That's the address a debit card is associated with. If you have moved, then update the address with your new address then wait a few days then place an order with Airspy.us.

Brings to mention that I have ordered twice from Airspy.us and both orders arrived accurately and on time.

As for the unresponsiveness via email. You aren't the first one to experience this. They responded to me twice from my g-mail account. Some others have not received responses.

The best way to order from Airspy.us is this. Wait till they change their web page information. Order from them when there is no bad news that can affect order processing and shipping. There are some warnings that stay that relate to shipping address. Just do your best to keep your information accurate.

i ordered an airspy discovery + and had no problems, it arrived when it should have, no prob. It's so great i'm considering another so i can record 2 different pieces of spectrum for pirate radio on shortwave. (btw if you have a decent shortwave radio, ballsmacker radio is great, as is wolverine radio, v sky, and real radio international, pirate radio is cool af)
