Looks like a new alerting system for Akron Fire on the way ... Internet based.

Internet based isn’t exactly correct. Westnet alerting systems are IP based. It will likely end up on a private IP network.

I would guess the $600k is just for the dispatch side of things. We looked at installing the alert side of things in one of our stations and it was almost $200k for one station. Not a bad product by any means, just an expensive one.
