Yeah, its funny. A lot of us came off UHF systems, with one antenna, and you knew the further from there, the worse it got. So, guys talking from twinsburg to clinton, throws people off with the clarity!

After quite a bit of listening, I'm 100% confident in ID'ing 41488. KWs suggested it might be Mosquito Control. He's right. They kept talking about spraying. The clincher was a conversation today about something called VectoMax. A quick Google search determines that VectoMax is a "biological larvicide" (aka bug spray).

I'll add the DB entry during lunch.

New/Unidetified Talkgroups

Lately while listening to my Pro-106 in wildcard mode, I have picked up many new talkgroups on the Summit County 800 system that are not listed in the DB. Some I think I have identified, but many I have no idea what they are. I'm hoping some other listeners might be able to help figure them out.

4368 Unknown (Fits in with other Akron Fire TG's)
33680 Possibly Metro Buses dispatch (It fits in with the other Metro TG's listed in the DB)
33712 Possibly Metro Buses (It fits in with the other Metro TG's listed in the DB)
36400 Unknown (Fits in with other Munroe Falls TG's)
37584 Unknown (Fits in with other Stow TG's)
39824 Richfield PD
60144 Unknown
62576 Unknown

33680 & 33712 - agreed, but no one ever calls it by name. I used over 1.5 hours of audio on the other METRO talkgroups to ID them
36400 - agreed, can't tell what this is. FD tests radios on it. Service Dept talks to PD on it during snows. Possible citywide?
37584 - no clue
39824 - added to DB earlier today, used a backup when Richfield 800 was down
60144 - Green Dispatch Center Analog COM3. (used for nox box only)
62576 - unknown data

Thanks for clearing some of those up for me Frank! I will continue to watch the Metro bus and possible Stow talkgroups to see if I can identify them.

Heard more unknown traffic at about 9:49pm tonight. This time it was on TG 33808. Two men were joking around about being of fire patrol. This TG would also appear to belong to Metro Buses.

Keep your ears up for testing (unknown TGs) by AMR (American Medical Response) .. they may be joining Summit 800 in near future, if testing goes well for their needs.

Just heard two drivers talking on 33712. "Just keep your radio on this channel. This will be the main METRO channel tomorrow." Time to listen closely.

Has anyone heard talkgroup 4592 today? It's two guys testing radio reception. It's defenitly at a hospital, I heard them do tests from the nurse station, ER, and ambulance receiving. I know all the area hospitals have Summit County 800mhz radios, could this possibly be for Hospital security.

I heard it too and was trying to pinpoint who it might be. Looking at the talkgroup ID's for the Summit County System, the 4592 would best fit in as an Akron talkgroup. My best guess is that it is either a personal ambulance service like AMR testing inside hospitals, or a non Summa affiliated hospital like Akron General that is thinking about moving to the county 800 system. I say a non Summa hospital because they all use UHF frequencies, and I would imagine they would switch as a whole, not just an individual hospital.

I wasn't implying that TG 4592 belongs to Akron, just that it fits in with their TG ID's. 4592 very well could be a TG that the county allows potential subscribers to use while testing radios for coverage.

I will continue to monitor it tomorrow as well.

It could be AMR, I have seen posts about them possibly joining the Summit County System. I kind of dout it Akron General hospital, they already have a talkgroup(33008) on the system.

AMR will now most likely be joining MARCS in future, rather than Summit 800.
They need more coverage than Summit system.

I've only ever heard radio techs on that talkgroup. As for the location, AGMC is an intriguing idea. What if it's AGMC North (Stow)?

Barberton / New Franklin / Clinton have received a grant to set up another P25 site, similar to the new Bath / Copley / Fairlawn P25 system. EVENTUALLY, both these P25 systems will be part of the Akron / Summit system, when they upgrade to P25.

Once I figured out how to use the wildcard mode on my scanner, I've picked up the following talk groups. Just wondering if anyone else has been able to ID them

36400- This is a Munroe Falls channel, heard an officer call a plow truck over the winter
60912- Heard Akron Canton Airport tower call Green fire several times about inbound emergency aircraft
This is an analog talkgroup
62384- No idea
37200- Heard Springfield Twp PD talk to Lakemore FD about a call both departments were heading to
41488- No idea
40944- Sounded like a street department
37584- Heard a Stow unit try to call out of service, he was on the wrong channel
51152- No idea
33232- this might be an "Emergency Button" channel, heard a Silver Lake unit tell dispatch( on CFPD dispatch) they were
gonna test something on an officers radio. Dispatch keyed back up and said they received the
Tone.
33872- sounded like Fire Dept. Traffic
39760- No idea
62576- No idea
41008- No idea
41328- No idea
33808- No idea
37136- No idea
4592- I think I heard some guys testing radios at a hospital a long, long time ago
36240- No idea

OK. Let's see what I can match up:

36400 - agreed, can't tell what this is. FD tests radios on it. Service Dept talks to PD on it during snows. Possible citywide? (see http://forums.radioreference.com/ohio-radio-discussion-forum/33704-akron-summit-13.html#post1622601)
60912- Green Dispatch Center analog TG9. I can't remember. I'll have to add these back as they still seem to be programmed in some radios at CAK.
62384- No idea
37200- already in RRDB
41488- already in RRDB
40944- Unknown City of Akron TG
37584- No idea
51152- already in RRDB
33232- No idea
33872- agreed. This is a new TG
39760- already in RRDB
62576- unknown data
41008- No idea
41328- already in RRDB
33808- No idea
37136- already in RRDB
4592- most likely radio repair - need a category home for this one
36240- possibly something for New Franklin

After years of listening, I finally got a confirmed name for 36240. New Franklin service were talking on 36208. One said to go to the channel labeled "flag", but the other guy didn't have that channel. The first switched over to flag (36240) to notify the rest of the crew.

This is why I love scanning. I love solving an old mystery. We kind of knew this was some construction related TG, but had no confirmation. DB updated.
