Heard 08272 this morning on bc30,was for sure a dispatch " said communications to engine 1 " I assume this would be AFD Dispatch #2
Also heard 08016, caught the end of the conversation, but a person was saying to another person was "since your a administrator, I need some batteries," not sure who that was though.

Also hearing 21760 & 21296 alot on old system.
I.D. 21296 sounds like public works to me, but cant verify

Also I noticed in these trunking system that all the IDs seem to be in order.Since AFD Dispatch1 is 8304 and I heard a dispatch on 08272 then it could be AFD. If they are in order.

On system 6D31 heard ID 21800 ,heard a person say go to CH4 the ID 21568 popped up and the were talking about alot of water at WG&L and need a bulldozer. Heard same person on ID 21600. Would all these be considered "Public Works"?

Yep, Richard, the 20xxx, 21xxx, 22xxx talkgroups include Public Works.

See the RadioReference page for the identified Public Safety talkgroups. We got a good list of nearly everything from an inside source when that system came alive. It's harder for the digital system as that contact is no longer in the area. No one in the local scanner group spent any time on mapping the public works group on the analog system.

If you look at how the analog system talkgroups were programmed, it'll likely give you (us) an idea of how they'll program the digital ones.

Thanks for the Fireground talkgroup!!!

8304 is AFD Main and 8272 is Fire Ground #1, looks like 8016 is being used by the fire inspectors maybe.

I verified 08272 also, They refered to it as "Batallion 1" Also I verified 21568 as Public Works or WG&L CH4, also 21800 & 21600 Also. Is all the old ID channels on old system going to have the same amount of IDs on new system, just different IDs for BC30.Have any of you uploaded any of these IDs we verified to the site yet?

I've added as many as we've ID'd to the RR database.

Fire 'Gators are probably on AFD Admin (from the old system plan).

I would imagine the city/county folks WOULD have made changes to their communication plan, although we're talking about Albany here......

So, I'm going to assume (until proven out with lots of listening) that it'll be the same plan for the major agencies.

Some of the users are using a plan very similar to the old list. I found if you can ID a couple of talk groups for a agency you can use the old layout by adding or subtracting 32 from the known ID. Most Id's increment by 32. Until I can hear someone actually ID their talk group I can only assume a lot of this.

Example:

Old EMS main was 19584 and Palmyra's old talk group was 19648 for a difference of 64,
New EMS talk group is 4976, and Palmyra's new talk group is 5040 for the same difference of 64. Phoebe's old talk group was 32 above Palmyra's on the old system and is 32 on the new system also. So take your old list and add or subtract 32 from the known talk group and it will get in the ball park.

By using this thinking it looks like EMS's talk group assignment should be as follows:

EMSADM 4816
EMSANN 4848
EMSAUX 4880
EMSCMP 4912
EMSCTC 4944 Confirmed
EMSMAI 4976 Confirmed
EMSOP1 5008
EMSPMC 5040 Confirmed
EMSPPH 5072 Confirmed
EMSTRI 5104

So far most ID's are falling into place. I have found some talk groups that are only 16 apart for some reason. Also I have found differences such as the old DCPAUX is being referred to as DCP Desk and the old DCPANN is now called car to car.

APD should be using 1872 as main when they go online. I have heard several users refer to it as that during testing and I have confirmed tha 1808 is going be the info channel. I heard ADDU refer to it by that name last night. Which sounds right, old APD main was 18944 and old Info was 18880 for a difference of 64. Take the 1808 and add 64 and what do you get is 1872 which is going to be APD main.

Hope the manner in which I tried to explain this isn't too confusing.

Sounds like they shifted the numbers but kept the same spacing.

With the old system, I made a chart of the known talkgroups to see if we overlooked anything "good." So, your explanation makes sense to me....

300 units on # 6512.

How much of the old system will be left? Public works staying on analog, right????

It is my understanding that PW and other users such as city transit will stay analog. BTW I heard the 300 units refer to 6512 as "ops1" and 6480 as "ADDU Main".

Last I heard, from Rescue Team, they would stay analog. Maybe 701, 702, a few others get digital portables. Should allow more Rescue Team members to get on the 800 analog system...

I've submitted all the talkgroups identified, to date, to the RR database.....Those I listed above in my chart and Billy's (except where previously identified) are best guess only, and were not submitted. Once you hear traffic on the system, feel free to submit.....

APD is still on the analog system, dispatching a domestic dispute now....

Not sure how you've setup your scanner to monitor both analog and digital,

I use bank 1 for APD and other public safety analog, bank 2 is digital site 1, bank 3 site 2.

That way, I can cut off APD and all their chatter and focus on the new stuff....

I have a pro-96, have APD analog on bank 0 & digital on 9, but have both sites on 9, just heard APD, just figured they would be talking more than what they have been. I did delete some of the freqs off the analog system.Since some got converted to digital. I have a bcd996t on order. I found a website that sells them for 475.00 + shipping @ mytaxfree.com
For a total of 489.99. Best price i've found.

Nice price for that scanner....glad I bought the Pro-96 when I did. I've had it for awhile and would have to travel to Macon or Jacksonville to listen to anything digital, until now.
Really like the Folders aspect of this scanner. Easy to program and load up a bunch of freqs and switch on-the-fly.

Usually APD "hogs" the frequencies. Before the switch to digital, I had Fire and EMS in bank 0, APD in bank 1, DCP in bank 2, all else in bank 3. Get something good going with one agency, I'd knock off the others. Have separate scanners for local VHF listening.

I'm going to pass along that 996 price to a buddy of mine....in MN.
