When my bcd996 gets here I'll hook it up to my computer & let it scan all the time & log all the traffic with all new talkgroups we havent confirmed yet.

I also talked to a friend of mine on DCP, about if he knew some talkgroups, but he didnt, but he said a scanner couldnt pick up the new "digital" system, talking about how they spent over 5 grand on new system so people couldnt listen. I seems these agencies think we're dumb or something, like we don't know whats going on. And that we cant hear them over the radio.

Do you use the priority feature with the pro-96, whats the advantage for this?

I heard ID 13072 I assume it is APD 911 center on BC30
19072 is APD 911 Center on 6D31
Also heard 13040 I assume this is APD Traffic on BC30
19040 is APD Traffic on 6D31
They have the same last 2 digits.
They might didnt put much thought in changing IDs that much going digital.

I dont hear much of these ids, they must be testing the system. Still most of traffic on 6D31

Priority just doesn't work if you're trunking. Really it does, but....

For years, I traveled alot back and forth to Tallahassee. They have an analog system but simulcast Fire Dispatch on VHF. I had my Pro-96 setup with priority on that VHF channel. It works, but gets very annoying. So, I bought another VHF/UHF scanner and tuned it to that VHF channel when in the neighborhood.

I haven't tried to use a control channel as priority. Like I said, I'll deselect the annoying agency as needed.

I've experienced what you described in your last post, but only if I'm outside of the county. Maybe it's a rotating analog control channel that we're picking up. I just can't explain it.

Billy's the engineer, let's ask him....

LOL about the DCP cop.....that was some of the comments I've heard from APD guys during the planning of the transition. Buy MA/COM Provoice if you don't want us to hear you.

Saw one of the new portables tonight.....neighbor fell and needed EMS.....he's okay, but it's weird to hear your street called out by dispatch.

This EMS unit has the black portables (I hope no one gets the ugly yellow ones). Couldn't talk the paramedic out of his radio, though (and I knew him, too). He said transition was going okay, getting used to this radio, etc.

Does anyone know ems codes? I heard them say a patient has a "308" on the way to the hospital. Just wondering.

Have anybody scanned for i-calls on their scanner, does APD use it? I know the bcd996t can scan icall, not sure about pro96.

"308" is more likely 'patient has E-T-O-H onboard (drinking alcohol)"
EMS will likely use APD codes, if ever.

ITac exists (repeater on Gillionville Rd site). I-calls is another story....I think the cops go to car-to-car or cellphones. I know the Rescue Team uses I-Calls and some EMS guys, but that's thanks to an astute radio guy's programming...

Major activity this afternoon, related to VIP visitor. Should peak this evening, then scattered activity until Sunday afternoon (google "Albany Georgia NOTAM"; it's public information, may have been announced).

DCP working on an ID 9840 for this special event (maybe new event channel?).

Event 1 (9840) has been quite busy.......although, the analog one had some traffic too.

So, if Event 1 = 9840, then
Event 2 should be 9872
Event 3 should be 9904
Event 4 should be 9936
Event 5 should be 9968
Event 6 should be 10000

IF the same "formula" is applied...we'll see.

Sounds about right Jay. If you count down from Event 1 to the new Jail talk group of 9680 it is the same number of talk groups down as it used to be also.

Old Jail 20256 New Jail 9680
Old Event 1 20416 New Event 1 9840

Both are 160 apart or 5 talk groups assuming 32=one talk group.

DCP seems to have rearranged some of their talk groups.

The talk group that should be DCP ADM is now now called DCP AUX, DCP ANN is DCP CTC, DCP AUX is now DCPDSK. DCP main and DCP TRF is still OK.

Can anybody confirm this? Or it may have been some confusion as to what channel the calling party thought they were on.

BTW one more analog channel (858.2625) moved to the digital system on 1-12-07.

VIP aboard AF2 and SAM flight departed around 2:00pm local, later in the day Reach 689T a C-17 arrived to pickup support equipment and left later in the day.

We'll work on it.....I heard "on DCP Aux" this weekend and it wasn't my DCPAUX talkgroup.

Missed the flight out.....and the "parade" to the airport, too.

That was a rainy flight, I bet (and with no flight delays).

I logged all ids on my bcd996t,and let it scan for 12hrs while I was at work, had 9904,9808,4983 & 6520 all unknown to whats programed so far.

So 9904 would be "Event 3" by the formula

If things are as we think that's correct. Event 3 should be 9904.
