Latest I head on MAC-7 that the fire was moving Southwest.

It is EXTREMELY hot, dry and now there is wind about 7 MPH from the South West according to the ECMWF model here: Professional weather forecast


Loveland water is near here and there are 10 employees that are sticking around despite evacuations.

Alexander Mountain Fire was first reported shortly after 11 a.m. July 29, 2024. The fire is located north of Highway 34, west of Loveland. The fire has grown rapidly and resulted in multiple evacuation orders from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. As of 3 p.m. July 29, the fire is burning almost entirely on National Forest lands.

I've been seeing them dip into Glade reservoir. Which is actually where Loveland gets its water.

Been hearing traffic on Loveland Power (4052) as well. I believe they shut off power in that area.

what is very interesting is I'm seeing traffic on USFS logistics and other obscure channels from Data base
camp net 411.3 its extreme scratchy from Berthoud but there is audio there

At 01:42 I heard dispatch on VFIRE21, frequency 154.280 CTCSS 156.7 say someone had a stuck mic.

At 01:46 I heard LC Fire (900) dispatch call Sam 1 (?) to have them check for stuck Mics as 900 was hearing music and some profanity.

Sam 1 (?) asked everyone on channels Talk group 5 and Mutual aid 1 to check their VHF radios for a stuck Mic if they had VHF radios.

What's puzzling to me is that I don't hear a stuck Mic on VFIRE21, and I'm about 8 miles due East of this fire. I sure heard dispatch on VFIRE21 though. So that tells me the stuck Mic may be near dispatch or they have a better ability to hear the transmission than I do. And my radio squelch is at 2 with a wideband antenna outside about 10 feet in the air.

It could have been a stuck Mic though. Like I said, it could be someone nearby. Or nearby the tower as well. Hearing dispatch on VFIRE21 was the only time I know of that I heard traffic there during this fire.

Where is 900 located anyway?

MAC-7 (Law Enforcement) has an incredible amount of traffic.

Yesterday, DTRS MAC-6 was staging and MAC-7 is evacuations.
I haven't heard anything on MAC-6 this morning. MAC-6 was patched into Larimer County Mutual Aid 1

I'm hearing these on Thorodin and Dakota.
