Exactly and that is called propagation in this hobby and is changing all the time due to the suns solar activity changing all the time and its effect on the earths ionosphere. When I started this a few weeks ago, conditions were not all that good for SW reception. It seems to have been better for the past week or so. Now I’m not just getting the dependable “boomers”, but there are actually a fair number of far away stations that I’m able to catch.
I bet alot of noobs buy there first shortwave radio on Amazon
on a bad propagation week, don't hear nothing on the shortwave
bands, pack up the radio and return it to Amazon never to return
to the hobby again. Big mistake. If they just waited a few days
more the bands would have opened and they would have had
DX stations coming in from all over the globe. 🌎
