Spain up here in Canada is what we call a "blow torch" station
in the hobby because they come in so strong or back in the day we called stations like that "needle benders" because all we had were analog S meters and they would literally bend your needle lol.

In fact the last radio black out Kp index 9 (red condition)
Spain πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ still came through and was readable lol.

Your a pro now
lol, it’s addicting, isn’t it? Earlier today there was not much going on, but for the past hour or so, the airwaves have been hopping here. I also got Radio Nacional da Amazonia, plus every single religious broadcast in America, all in one scan. Some of those stations come in much stronger and clearer than a lot of our local AM stations.

Most people think the shortwave bands and the hobby is
dead ? On most days my Sangean ATS-909X2 is lit up like
an xmas tree with so many stations.

Sure there are not many English speaking stations every 10 Khz
left like back in 70s 80s but that is what the translate app is for.
We are not even scratching the surface in this hobby. There
are tons and tons of 1 Kw and 10 Kw SW stations broadcasting
all the time all over the globe 🌎 that we might be able to DX them.

The shortwave listening hobby isn't dead it's different.

-JRC RADIO DABANGA via Issoundun, France πŸ‡«πŸ‡· 17555 Khz
1622 UTC S3/5 in Dari

Notes

-good signal with lite fading
-Kp index was 4 (green condition)

I see so many people getting signals from Issoundun, but I have yet to hear them here in Wisconsin. I think Spain is the closest I’ve gotten to France so far. But hey, I’m gonna keep trying. πŸ™‚

Keep trying you will get them they are a very powerful transmitter. The Issoundun transmitter network is like the
WRMI for Europe with lots of other countries buying airtime
to get there programs rebroadcasted.

Ditto try NHK WORLD RADIO JAPAN via Issoundun on
6105 Khz at 0320 UTC in Japanese they should be booming
In.
There was a signal there at about 11:30 PM CDT, and I could identify a male sounding voice, but couldn’t tell what language it was.
