The link Whiskey3JMC shared is a great way to track what's in the air above you. There are several similar sites like that online like FlightRadar24 as well as a whole rabbit hole of stuff you can get into monitoring and feeding that data to those sites similar to Broadcastify.

The atmospheric temperature and humidity conditions play a much bigger part in how many vapor trails (contrails) develop behind an aircraft flying, than any specific increase in plane traffic. It's pretty likely that it's the same number of planes in your area as normal, just that the conditions are just right for the trail to develop.

You can also check out the Aircraft Monitoring and less active Data Decoding forums for more threads on the topic.

There are a few others plane trackers besides ADS-B exchange. Two more good ones are:

I have an ADS-B receiver and dedicated antenna. I feed data to Flightradar24

I prefer ADS-B Exchange over Flightradar24 due to color coding of aircraft by altitude ranges among other things. Yeah Flightradar24's animation is a bit better but it's annoying to have to refresh the browser every so often to stop it from pestering you to buy a subscription. I ain't giving in. An RR premium sub is enough for me

I just noted this on my way to work. Bet I saw a dozen planes within my sight along with about 3 dozen trails across the sky. Usually don't see that many at one time. Wasn't sure if all commercial or some military.

Anyone monitoring air band? There are so many aircraft vapor trails in the sky right now. Never seen that many before.
I replied earlier but many of my post have been mysteriously disappearing lately with explanation.

Yes, air bands were very busy today, both commercial and military. Full sun, beautiful day, it''s no wonder. Soon the ultralights and military helicopters from Selfridge ANGB will be flying over my house!

It appears my post above has been edited to say "with explanation", when I originally said "without explanation".

The conditions were good for contrails to stick around longer than normal. I don't know that there was particularly more traffic than normal.
