so my RS Pro 163 is an awesome scanner.. using it to pick up my fire disp that runs a 800 trunk system ..
i understand that the alpha tags are used in conjunction with the 800 mhz and the trunk system to identify the talk group
my question is .. could you use the alpha tag on that scanner to label a conventional frequency,,
there is an adjacent county that i would like to start monitoring, and instead of the frequency being displayed when someone is talking on it.. i would like to program a label or name in the alpha tag slot for that freq
will it show up instead of the numbered freq?
also.. not to jack my own thread.. i have been given a mobile antenna mag mount.. my scanner has a BNC connection on the back,,, but the antenna has a push in style much like a car radio antenna .. is there an adapter for such animal???
thanks!!!!
