Early morning hours today, I was getting Somerset, KY Police Dept. Communitations here in DAYTON, OHIO! Now mind you, Somerset is in SOUTHERN KY!

I could NOT believe it! But sure enough, It was them! Sounded crystal clear too, No noise/static, etc. This was on 453.7000

I was using a RS Pro-95 w/ RS 800mhz antenna btw...

I've been getting stuff from down in Virginia and North Carolina in the past couple weeks. It's amazing.

Yes, we have been getting some amazing tropospheric VHF/UHF ducting in recent weeks here in the Eastern U.S. If you have an outdoor TV antenna, you'll be amazed at some of the stations you will get when the tropo is working. I have seen stations in Western IL here in Central KY not to mention crystal clear signals from Indianapolis, Dayton, Columbus and Nashville. And, the NOAA weather frequencies are so overloaded with signals at time, I can barely pick up our local outlet on 162.4 due to distant weather signals wiping it out! Conditions like this make radio fun for me.
