Back in the 70's the state of iowa divided the state in regions. Where each region used a discrete frequency/tone. An ambulance unit numbering system was also devised. County Number/A or Adam/followed by the actual unt number. Each region started at 1 and continue to a high number. Of course in some areas they didn't follow the plan. In Scot county they used the agency name and a numbering suffix.iowa_counties_ems.gif
BTW in Region 15 the west part should be 15A. Also Johnson County changed the frequency to 155.205/192.8

Ohhhhhh.... I remember...

That's not in widespread use anymore. Some hospitals may use it, but widespread use has gone by the wayside decades ago.

It's in use in Area 3. But as Burner50 said, not all over. Most use it, but some hospitals are talking to ambulances on the county fire frequency, believe it or not. As far as I can tell, ambulance/hospital comms in my area aren't on ISICS yet, but I imagine that's the next step.

In Cerro Gordo, Worth, and Franklin Counties, Mercy North Iowa uses ISICS. Alas, it is encrypted (to comply with HIPAA I was told). No idea what they do here in Clinton, they seem so far behind the curve of the rest of the Mercy organization.
