Pafford EMS?

I saw that there are several talk groups that have been submitted for Pafford EMS on OKWIN. It looks like there is West OKC and East Tulsa area as well as the rotar wing units. Is Pafford in the process of switching to OKWIN? I know Pafford over here in the Broken Arrow, Catoosa, and Rogers County operate on the BA Network simulcast with their VHF repeater in Claremore. Will Pafford be going to all OKWIN statewide? Thanks!

From what I've heard they are reorganizing almost everything within the company. Radio wise, for the Tulsa area they are expecting to stay as is for the time being; meaning Claremore is still analog VHF and BA is still on BACRN (which is linked to their Fort Smith Dispatch via VOIP). OKWIN is likely for units operating out of the Oak Grove area from what I understand. They are also expecting to issue HTs to all their crews in the very near future (similar to what EMSA does in Tulsa) and those may have interoperability between Pafford's different dispatch sites, but I cant confirm this yet.

Ok, so word on the street is the new radios have been installed in the Claremore area ambulances, they should start using those at midnight tonight and they will be "digital" in that area now, and not using their analog system at all anymore. Supposedly, Claremore will be dispatched from OKC, much like BA is dispatched from Fort Smith. So we shall see...

I've been listening and nothing has seemed to have changed.
Claremore is still analog VHF, BA is still on BACRN and I haven't ran discovery to hear/program the new OKWIN TG.
The person I know 'in the know' and passing along info isn't a radio/scanner guy and is only relaying what they've heard. They're great at filling in gaps of knowledge; like why am I hearing Pafford on BA's system?, who dispatches who?, is there another Pafford site operating in the NE area (which leads to the guess of the Oak Grove site being the recently updated OKWIN site since they -Pafford crews- all know they're there but no other Pafford Site has comms with them), stuff like that.
I'm still waiting on a picture of their new radios so I can see what they are and what they're capable of.
As of right now, I dont know anything else. I was going to give it a week or so (let 'em iron out the bugs) then reach back out.

Ok, their new radios are APX 4500s. P25PII capable. Model # M36UXXXXXXXX. The google machine shows the U meaning 764–870 MHz. So there's that.

Seems all that has really changed is Pafford's Claremore station now shares BACRN TG 10057 with Pafford's BA station. Both stations are simulcast on Claremore's old analog repeater out by Limestone.
Claremore (and most Roger's County addresses) are dispatched by Pafford's Claremore Dispatch; Truck numbers are 31X.
BA is Dispatched by O-Comm (they no longer use Med-Comm out of Arkansas); Truck Numbers for BA are 32X.
BA Handles mostly transfers, but can handle emergencies at BA Fire's request.
OKWIN is still a mystery for now.

Their mobiles are APX 1500's and their portables are N30's as far as the new radios go. All of Eastern OK is currently dispatched by O-Comm now.

Unless its changed in the last 24 hours, not all Eastern OK is dispatched by O-Comm. Roger's county is still locally dispatched. Even listening to them you hear the distinction between "Central" and "O-Comm" when they're talking to the different trucks. Doesn't really matter though. The concern was they were going to disappear from the radio and have to be found again. Turns out they just blended the locations and simulcast 'em. The curiosity lies with their OKWIN TG in the NE area and what its used for.

Update: Pafford has likely ceased use of their VHF repeater for simulcasting and instructed crews to only use their phase II radios going forward. The formal reason given was 'a kid was posting our radio traffic to TikTok'. So anyways, there's that.

That’s funny. False, but funny. Ground Tulsa TG and Tac East are now active as of today. The move to OKWIN has been planned for some time.

Heard Pafford on OKWIN today, ID 133.

I asked about that TG and was told that its programmed into their radios but that its ancillary to their normal (BACRN) channel. Does that track with what you heard on that TG? They said they have two channels like that, called it their "ground channel" and "tac channel" but didn't know much more.

Side note: the TikTok kid thing was apparently real. Supposedly the dude was listening in, planting himself close to where the call was and videoing the ambulances go by. You can find those types of videos all over Youtube and -I guess- TikTok. Like trainspotting, I don't understand the appeal, but to each their own. Funny thing is, the crews that watched his videos said he was doing a great job making them look like heros when they went by; with the lights and sirens and all that. It was excellent free marketing.

Apparently the OKWIN and BACRN TGs may be patched together. I'm not sure, don't listen to them very often and the info I get seems to be changing by the week so I'll stop incrementally adding to this thread and only update once everything seems wholly fleshed out.
