I have 2 dmr hotsport and i'm more than happy , both custom , one based on dvmega board/rpi3/nextion, and second one is a dualtimeslot mmdvm by BI7JTA with a rpi3/nextion. if you want more power just take a motorola gm340-350 and a pihat mmdvm from repeater builder and you'l have a 25/40w multimode hotspot. If you put 2 radios and a duplexer you'll have a repeater.
