Another Spill In The City By Coatesville Fire DepartmentMarch 6, 2010 As the Coatesville Members were busy conducting a work detail at station 41 the Chester County 911 Center Dispatched the department for an oil spill on the "Flats" section of Lincoln Highway in the city.
Ladder 43 Engine 41-2 with Deputy Chief Pacana all made the response shortly after dispatch and were advised by the 911 center that the caller reported an unknown spill on the roadway in the area of the Flats.
Coatesville units arrived to confirm the report crews then started using absorbent to control the fluid on the ground. Crews also checked storm drains to confirm that storm drains in the area were not compromised by the spill.
Due to the amount of fluid on the ground Deputy Chief Pacana requested Ambulance 41-1 return to station 41 for extra absorbent supplies.
Coatesville Fire Department units cleared the scene a short time later.
