An interesting question was posed in a different thread, it was placed deep into another conversation so didnt get full attention. The light on the 396 is it LED and what is its enginered life expectency? I must say I think this is the best mass production radio released by any company so far. However since everyone has posted thier wish list for firmware upgrades i will as well. Hopefully some may be attended to before Uniden ends support for this model.
1. Ability to set a conventional channel as APCO-25 only vs. setting it as CSQ
2. Ability to program and decode NAC codes, again so you only hear what you want.
3. ability to display the frequency rather than the modulation mode on conventional channels.
4. Have the battery meter on all the time.
