Looking for a good indoor antenna for all around use. I live on the south side of Clark county and can't get Greene co marcs system. Looking for a better antenna. Any suggestions would be helpful thanks. I may not have it programmed correctly.

I have a mobile Larsen NMO3E700B mounted on a right angle bracket just outside my office window and get 3 to 4 bars on MARCS IP towers from 3 counties.

How does it work with vhf or uhf? Wonder how it will work Inside?

This is a 700 Mhz specific antenna and I have it connected to a scanner that I only use for MARCS. Reception on other bands would be poor.

Use an indoor TV antenna such as the leaf / blade type or one that is more directional. Locate it in an upper story window pointed toward Greene Co. TV antennas work quite well for 700-800 mHz and other bands as well.

I've used the Larsen NMO 150/450/800 indoors using a magnetic NMO mount on a steel cookie sheet. It sits on top of a bookcase. This will get you VHF & UHF. I've found it to work well on MARCS.

There really is no such thing. If you could be a little more specific. Is this for a scanner, CB, HF ham radio, TV, WiFi, radar?

Original poster's full message stated what he's looking for, Greene County MARCS sites:

Already a couple of good suggestions in the thread, too.

To the OP: An outdoor antenna is always a better idea, but if it's not an option, use a directional antenna and try to put it near a window looking toward Greene County. If you're willing to try building your own Yagi, check this out (should work fine for 800 MHz also):

I use the following at work and in home

PCTEL Maxrad 760-870 MHz 3dB Antenna w/Spring
with just a standard BNC connector NMO mag mount

Sometimes I get all excited and use this:
PCTEL Maxrad - 760-870 Closed Coil Antenna
with a BNC nom mag mount.

Not sure if this is much better for 700/800mhz but it works for 30-1300mhz.
Magnet mount is convenient for me since it can be moved and stuck on something metal.

I pick up MARCS and MARCS-IP,(700/800mhz), 2m ham (440MHz), local vhf public service(150mhz), and the occasional CB (25mhz) with it.

CB is not great considering scanners don't do SSB, but the antenna covers everything.

Also comes in SMA if you have a Uniden.
