You can run both VRS and FR24 no issue. The thing is the data is going to programs on that internal IP 127.0.0.1 so every program you run on your pc can share that data. Caveat if you plan to share to VRS server that may require some port forwarding and static ip's. You can enjoy VRS locally without sharing to that server. Pm me email address I'll send a file for VRS stuff.

I tried. It's something with FR24 - it seems to need direct access to the dongle & there seems to be no way to share/split the data from there. I tried using rtl1090 to put the data to fr24 but it just refused to work - proper port assignments or not. Unless, I missed it...

Remember also that your polar plot is a 2-dimensional representation of 3-dimensional space. The edges of your coverage are going to exclude lower altitudes and mountains will block them.

and... Anyone have a silhouette file?

Sorry I never bothered with them, after 30 years in aircraft maintenance I guess I don't need them? Maybe find them over at sbs resources.com? Don't hold me to that like I said I never looked for them.

I'm currently running a homebrew 1/2 wave collinear 1090 MHz ADS-B antenna with Dump1090 into an R820T Dongle. The antenna is inside on the 2nd floor (in a townhouse...can't put it up outside) and works well for aircraft at higher altitudes...

That's a nice plot. I used to live in Hudson Falls - when I was in grade school there. I think your antenna & this one are basically the same, except these guys made a business out of them.

Hey would you share your silhouettes file?

From Rensselaer, the shape of my polar plot looks like gralston's in reverse - coverage almost to Rochester to the west, but only halfway to Gardner to the east.

No, I use the indoor Blade in my attic (100 feet ASL).

Interesting... Mine seems crippled to the south but it may be a long needled pine. It's a little higher than the antenna but it is about 30ft away... Could be something else... We do have grain elevators directly to the south also but that'd be maybe a third of a mile away - then again they are extremely high...

I have tried again to get VRS to pull data from FR24... It just will not work...
Followed the directions provided here: http://feed.flightradar24.com/fr24feed-manual.pdf
From Page 12 or Section 3. FAQ - 3.2

VRS just shows ' connecting ' but never does... I tried all the ports I could think of.... 30002, 30334, ....
RAW FEED is set to YES... AUGH~!!!11!

Any ideas? I'd really like to run VRS whilst providing feed to FlightRadar24!

Ok these are a couple of screenshots of VRS that had run after a few days & after a week. There was one interruption for about an hour when we had a power outage, otherwise I think it's a complete picture.

Not sure if it's a good range or not...
