Pretty simple question here: I have one nice 6dB 800-900MHz omni antenna, and I'm wondering if it's possible to split the line so I can use it on multiple radios (all radios are receive-only, no transmitting). Can I just split it to multiple radios, or do I need a pre-amp for it first maybe? Any recommendations on a product to do this? I'm looking to hook up to 10 radios to it, if possible.

Stridesberg makes multicouplers that will do what you're seeking. Good equipment, but not cheap.

Receiver Multicouplers, Passive and Active, HF to VHF/UHF

Electroline makes cable TV drop amps which can be used for scanners. I use the EDA-UG2802 with my scanners, and it does a fine job.

Welcome to Electroline!

The use of a preamp would depend on several factors which I am not knowledgeable enough to discuss ... someone else will need to weigh in on that.

Oh, that MCA208M is perfect. Thanks!

EDIT: oh nevermind, that's in the wrong frequency band. I need the MCA804, but in an 8-port version, which they don't seem to carry.

Interesting. What frequency band do you need? The 208M covers 25 MHz to 1000 MHz and works fine for 800 MHz.

I've had several Stridsburg multicouplers for years and they work very well.
