Antenna "whistle"

Anyone know of a way to eliminate the whistle a whip causes while driving? I've considered either applying a coating or a sleeve with heat shrink. Any thoughts on these or any other techniques?

If you are talking about the 800 mHz antennas with an open coil near the bottom of the element, you might try inserting a small section of rubber tubing inside the coil. I had a friend with this situation and the rubber insert solved the problem.

My brother used the shrink tubing and that worked really good for him.

Why dont you just put the top up on the car?

Dodge put a coating on their truck antennas to stop it. On my dakota it looks like heat shring. On the rams it is actually tear drop shaped for smoother flow.
