I activated Close Call On my Uniden 125AT and this frequency comes up with a CW ID every hour. Does anyone know what repeater system uses it is SLO County? TIA.
I'm thinking it is in Clark Canyon, but I don't know.

What's the CWID say? The only thing I see is it's used as the input for repeaters in Merced County (far away) and Alpine County (very far away), i.e., nothing that should reach SLO or be IDing.

There's only two licenses showing on the FCC database for 158.8125.
One is Merced County, and it's a repeater input, so unlikely you'd hear CW ID on it.
The other is the State and appears to be part of CRIS. It's also a repeater input and unlikely you'd hear CW ID on it.

158.805 or 158.820 are the two adjacent frequencies in the public safety pool.

158.805 has SLO county on it, as WTP mentioned. There is a repeater output on that frequency on Cuesta Peak, as well as one north of Cambria. Plus, all of these: ULS License - Public Safety Pool, Conventional License - WRUY876 - SAN LUIS OBISPO, COUNTY OF - Locations Summary

158.820 is being used by Paso Robles and the State of California, but as a repeater input, so again, unlikely you'd hear CW ID on that.

I'll just record the channel and decode the CW ID. Anything over 10 WPM is too fast for my bad ears. Thanks for the pointers.

It turned out to be licensed to 158.805 San Luis Obispo county. With my cheap uniden scanner I guess that is close enough for monitoring purposes.

Most (not Cheap) are not able to handle a strong adjacent frequency bleed over, even at 12.5 never mind 6.25

Do the Uniden SDS-100/200 have good selection/filtering for nearby frequencies? At that cost I would hope so. Of course, I'll never buy one since Police in SLO county is encrypted, but fire is still in the VHF range on FM and I can monitor it.
