Are there any other scanners out there I should consider besides the 325P2?

I was considering the SDS100 at one point, but after further review and the fact that my
personal circumstances has changed, I cannot justify spending over $500 on even a used
SDS100.

The only thing with the 325p2 is it uses two batteries and is a power hog, so keep plenty of spares with you.

Keep in mind that TxWARN uses simulcast in Harris County (both the County and City sites), and you could end up with issues with anything short of the SDS100 (the SDS100 and SDS200 are the only scanners on the market that can handle simulcast distortion). If you're listening to anything other than TxWARN, you'll probably be alright.

Actually that is not quite accurate. The Bluetail scanners handle simulcast with no problems. The newest model is the NanoP25rx which has a base price of $150. It does have to be connected to a WIO terminal which adds an additional $40-$45. Additionally the Bluetail scanners are USA made

Good to know. When I was upgrading my equipment and getting back into the hobby after a few years back in 2020 (gee, I wonder why???) the SDS's were the only players in town. Of course, since then I've also got a few RTL-SDR radios, DSDPlus and SDRTrunk (which also handles simulcast) running on my laptop that I use when I'm researching systems.

The nice thing about the Nano is it will work without a computer. In fact the only time you need to use a computer is when updating the firmware. It also has Bluetooth. You can use a Bluetooth speaker or stream audio to any Bluetooth device. It can be used as a base or mobile or even portable with optional battery pack
