Any suggestions for VHF/UHF portable BNC antennas?

Haven't bought many antennas before and I've been trying to find an antenna for just VHF and UHF and haven't had much luck. All I need is an antenna that is good on 150MHz and 460MHz and is BNC. I've seen some VHF only antennas but I have no idea how they do on 460. Thank you.

Are you asking about a scanner antenna or for a dual-band TX/RX antenna for a handheld? I'd imagine many of us have different recommendations for either use. Are you wanting to use it "conveniently and comfortably" while wearing it, or do you just want top performance?

Scanner, receive only. I wanna be able to keep the scanner on my belt without having much of a problem with the antenna snagging but I still don't mind it having a little height. But yeah performance is the main goal.

Since most scanner antennas these days tend to be tri-band, you have a wider selection since you just want V/U coverage. You can choose from various business band HT antennas and the better VHF scanner antennas.

The Remtronix 842b is a carbon copy of the original "rubber duck" antenna that all handheld scanners came with before Uniden decided that injection-molded paper clips were a better stock antenna. That's will give you as good of VHF performance as anything else of that length.

Retevis has a good dual-band antenna for HTs, but it's definitely an armpit tickler worn on the waist. 😎

I have a similar telescoping antenna, but without the swivels. That's a great addition, especially when you can lay a smaller handheld down on a table for stability.

Diamond RH77CA, great handheld antenna with a BNC connector and also available with a SMA connector too.
