I've got a few old crystal scanners in my closet, so I'm thinking about making them dedicated monitors for the last of the Anne Arundel Fire VHF freqs.

Does anyone have crystals for 154.01000; 154.34000 and 154.28000 or have a local source?? Either Bearcat or Realistic will work as I have old scanners from both.

I know about the national/WWW companies still selling crystals, but thought there might be some lying around locally..

If I recall correctly, the crystals might not be stamped with the frequency you want to receive, they might be stamped with the receive frequency plus or minus the LO frequency.

VHF high-band crystals I've known (used to order them almost 30 years back) usually have the fundamental frequency on the side, and may have the ACTUAL RX frequency on the top, but this is not a rule. VHF high crystals are usually 3rd overtone, so it is commonly the RX frequency +/- the 1st IF (10.7 or 10.8MHz), divided by 3.

The following site lists some crystals, unfortunately not the ones you want. Maybe check with Bill if he has any not listed:

Another collector of vintage scanners is a fellow named Bob Parnass. Try a web search on him. He might be able to help.

Thanks for your responses guys, I appreciate it. I've checked into the places you mentioned, I'm just checking here to see if anyone local to me has a few stashed away.
