i was lucky enough to have caught ao-51 day before yesterday, and again today. twice... just using the stock omni on the wouxun and aiming it around. only callsign i could clearly make out today was wx7p (spokane washington). was too excited about catching it first try the other day to record any call signs.
this summer i will be testing in, rxing is great, but i think txing will be a lot more fun.
Working the sats is fun. Current TX power for AO-51 is 550mW due to aging batteries, eclipses and bad sun angles, usually the power output is over 1 watt.
You should be able to hear SO-50, AO-27(ascending passes only, turns on about the time it crosses 30 degrees N latitude) and SO-67 may be on for North America the first week of May
