I'm not familiar with that counter but with the Scout there are two control output settings...one for Icom and one for AOR. If the Icom settings are used the AR8000/AR8200 won't be controlled. Does your counter have similar settings?

This company that sold me the counter had sum false advertising if thats the case!

The aor just goes into remote mode but doesnt do anything ...

Are the radio and the counter both set to communicate at the same bit rate?

Found an article in google cache translated it from german to english and found the problem...

Once you turn on the counter you have to press function once ..... how simple was that lol

reaction tuning

I love this feature on the aor 8000 and a scout.
I love it even more on the BC396.
I have been playing with my 8000 every day lately. GREAT receiver.
The 8000 was THE scanner that changed it all. Have you ever cracked open your 8000?
Do it .It is a beautiful thing. What design?? What quality!!
Some one once said that the aor 8000 was not built well. I don't think they looked inside the thing, it is a work or art. a thing of beauty.
Love my 8000.
