I have a programmer that will work for these cpu's, plus a generator if I need to force the clock.
There is a VPP pad near the IC. with those satisfied, I can read the internal flash independant of the CPU.
Same programer with the saved bin file, I can program another chip.

Don't you need the CPU fully working to read its internal flash?

Nice but not going to buy another. Been using an XGECU for decades. did a project with a µPD78F0034 way back, near identical chip.
Got GQ-4X4, J-link, USBJTAG, TI JTAG emmulator and a couple others. so far, one chip I can't directly program is the old XYCOR X2212
I can, but takes setting up an old GE Ranger.

Post here again if you manage to extract the internal flash information. It could be interesting to take a look at the code.
