I had my 8200mk3 updated to digital and have been receiving data noise on p25 transmissions so I e-mailed Mr. Collin at AOR Japan and received instructions and the firmware update to help with this. The problem is the firmware will not download to the radio and the red led on the control switch will not light up while holding both pwr and control button.Any help would be most helpful.

I had a little trouble at first but then carefully read the instructions several times with the radio in hand and it worked fine. Make sure you give the radio some time to take the commands and do its thing before giving up.

I've read the instructions several times tryed several times and even held both buttons between 10 seconds to 1 minute no luck.I guess I will have to read it several more times to sink in.How long do I need to hold both buttons for and prcguy I haven't given up yet just on hold so I don't end up with a expensive brick.

I don't remember how long you have to hold the button but after a few failed attempts I took it slow and believe holding down the button a little longer might be one of the things that made it work. I'll dig up the instructions and see if it will jog my memory.

Ok, looking over the instructions I remember making sure only the upgrade file was on the micro SD card because pressing the side record button outside the correct upgrade sequence will add an audio file to the card and might confuse the upgrade.

I also might have pressed the "0" key along with the orange power button and side button after reading their instructions a few times. I'm not completely sure about this but in the instructions "Power on the receiver by pressing and holding at the same time the ten-key PWR button and the control switch located on the lower left side of the receiver" they may be referring to the "0" key as a "ten-key" and it might be part of the power on sequence. Or maybe not, but try it anyway.

prcguy that is what I thought at first so I push the "ten key" pwr button and the control switch did that several times did't work either so I e-mail back to Mr Collin to explain what the "ten key" is he calls the "ten key" is the numeric key pad so it's the pwr on the numeric key pad.I check the sd card and it has the ar82d004 file on it and nothing else could the file be corrupt or maybe it's not copying to sd card right or the p25 module willn't take up the firmware I'm at a lost anyway thanks.
