AOR AR-3000A LCD display won't refresh

New member here and would like to solicit technical advice from the groups experts and guru's regarding this unit. Recently acquired this (thought to be working) faulty receiver. I plugged it in and the LCD comes on with the initial load display (LCD full with 888888888888 and so forth). Tried to turn it off, but the ON/OFF switch doesn't seem to work. Any advice will be appreciated.

I have done all that and no joy. Thanks for your suggestion.

Take bottom cover off and press the reset button on cpu/keyboard, may take acouple of tries, sometimes plugging in power while pressing reset works. If not maybe something wrong with radio. Still have my first AOR AR3000 from 1993 going everyday 24/7 still like it better for manual tunning then my 2 AR-300A's because of the clicker on the tunning knob.
