AOR 5001D WHY, A GOOD QUESTION
I've owned several 5000's and several 5000A+3's. I wouldn't give up the +3 for almost anything. I've read the reviews on the D unit and I'm not too impressed. The new Uniden unit coming out in late January has the AOR beat by a mile with the X2 TDMA and the phase II APCO 25.
The member who said they cater to Law Enforcement and the Military is correct. After all, their spending OUR tax dollars. In my opinion the Radio is way way overpriced and I understand that it has firmware issues as well. Don't they send these units out for BETA Testing???
I'll stick with my 5000A+3. It's a great unit. By the way were starting to see the new D unit on Ebay but I haven't seen one sell yet. It's just too much money when compared to the new Uniden model which I intend to buy
I'm wondering why this new AOR receiver commands such a high price? I'm not knocking AOR, I know they make a great product but I'm just wondering why the high price tag when there's no trunking and the APCO-25 option is almost the price of a high end scanner. Am I missing something?
