Just purchased an AOR AR8200 communication receiver on ebay. It came with a voice inverter card. What does this card do and what bands is it useful for. I paid 250.00 dollars for the unit and I just saw this card sell for 100.00 dollars on ebay. If it is not going o be much use to me, I will probably sell it. Thanks

If you are not sure what "voice inversion scrambling" just type it into google and the first hit will be a link to a Wikipedia article that explains it.

I do not know of nor heard of any active voice inversion scrambling activity. Best answer I can give it sounds somewhat like a off frequency SSB signal. We had some PD's that had ancient voice inversion equipment in the cars that we maintained but that was 20 years ago. I understood it was used for drug surveillance work but was not popular with the police who refused to use it.

Keep it! Might be something to play around with.
