AOR connecting

Hi all i bought oar 8200 mk3 with cable
i can connect to computer no prob all software and even to my basestation
I got a buyer for it and took it down to his house
using same software free and bought it will not connect on his computer using com 1 both comps
i have tried every thing no joj
any ideas welcome

It's possible that other devices in his computer have all the available COM ports tied up. A dialup modem would be a likely culprit, if he has one. You can change the port a modem is using through Control Panel as long as you don't cause a conflict with another device. I don't have one though, so I can't guide you through it right now.

Try going to Start->Settings->Control Panel->System->Device Manager

Somewhere in the list there should be Ports (COM and LPT), you can see there what COM ports the computer has. You can also try changing the settings of the ports.


Are you using an actual serial cable or some sort of USB adaptor? The USB ones sometimes don't work right on everybody's computer.

Why are you selling your 8200? That's a great radio :(

but it dont get the dot on screen of aor when u connect cable it comes on when u take it out wich is backwoods
if i can find why that happens i might crack it

Sounds like the cable isn't seating correctly. Try it with the plug not quite fully pushed home.

bought new cable worked first time
two wires off in old cable so soldered back on two working leads now
